High-Risk Obstetrics and Clinical Emergencies: Managing Crisis Situations
( rx= 1.5 hrs.)

Focused on high-risk obstetrics and selected life-threatening emergencies, this Preconference is the answer for those of you who have ever whispered to yourself, “Please don’t let my patient die.” In any high-risk or life threatening emergency, having the knowledge and skills to intervene quickly and effectively is crucial to a good outcome for mother and baby. This Preconference gives you the tools and clinical strategies you need to effectively assess and manage crisis situations where the lives of the mother and her baby are at risk. Developed by nurses who, like you, are “in the trenches,” this is one session you don’t want to miss!

This Preconference will enable you to better:

  • Identify clinical signs indicating physiologic compromise in the high-risk obstetric patient.

  • Discuss selected life-threatening high-risk and OB emergencies, including critical interventions for improving outcomes.

  • Explore medical-legal considerations in high-risk obstetrics and OB emergencies.
