Conference Objectives

This conference will enable the experienced clinician to:

  • Improve clinical practice by incorporating advanced pathophysiologic concepts into the assessment, management and care of critically ill and injured patients.

  • Evaluate recent research and literature to better understand and appropriately utilize current evidence– based recommendations for care.

  • Utilize critical thinking skills when assessing sedation effectiveness, tissue oxygenation, coagulopathies and shock.

  • Describe emerging technologies and identify indications for use, as well as benefits and potential complications.

  • Identify the impact of effective interpersonal communication, collaboration, conflict management and teamwork on the work environment and patient care.
